Henir's Time and Space

Legend has it that the god Henir endured Ragnarok, and afterwards created a place where there is no limitation of time and space. Here, she is able to see the rise and fall of the world. Should you reach this place, by Henir's force, you are bound to face the enemies you have met in the past and those you are destined to meet in the future.

Henir's Time And Space

Before arriving in Elrios, all outsiders must first pass through the chaotic realm of Henir.

Henir's space is a labyrinth that is infinitely large, dark, and unpredictable. Gravity is just a suggestion, and most flat surfaces will serve well enough as the "ground" so long as you don't think too hard about it. The terrain is constantly shifting, though "pathways" have been known to form between portals into the realm. Even so, these pathways are rarely the same on a second visit and collapsing roads are a frequent problem. Distances can become longer or shorter, paths that were once far apart can cross or merge, and distant dimensions far beyond both Elrios and the Demon Realm can suddenly become connected to this one.

Like physics, time also behaves strangely here. Time spent within Henir may be longer or shorter from the perspectives of those outside of it, and the results are just as unpredictable as everything else. It is rumoured that even time travel is possible for those who know how to navigate the inner depths of Henir... although, such knowledge is also said to come at a high cost.

The energy within Henir's space contains a powerful corrupting effect. Most mortal beings cannot survive in its environment for long periods of time, and even entities with divine protection may find themselves affected by Henir's power. If they aren't outright killed by the radiation, they'll become sick and eventually start to mutate to fit Henir's aesthetics. Please contact a mod if you would like to pursue a plot involving Henir corruption.

While visits to Henir's space are highly discouraged, it is possible to remain here safely under the guidance and protection of one of its residents. Adventurers may seek the assistance of current and former Administrators of Time and Space to guide them safely through Henir's domain.

The Henir Core

Out in the distant depths are floating objects and stones that drift about, growing in size and complexity the deeper one travels into the void. At the deepest point, and visible from even the furthest reaches, is a massive black sun that acts as the only source of natural(?) light within the space. It is said that this is the heart of Henir, though no one has ever been there.

Glave, Retired Administrator of Henir's Time and Space

Oh? And where do you think you're going? Kukuku, you must have a deathwish if you want to go to a place like that.

Sorry, but my boss doesn't like guests in her personal quarters. As funny as it would be, I've already served one eternity of servitude... you'd need a better reason than curiosity to survive a trip to that place.

Why don't you go... hmm, this way, instead?

Monsters & Wildlife

Henir's space is a realm devoid of all natural life... at least, as far as mortal understanding goes. While it lacks plants, animals, and even bacteria, it does have its own form of "life" befitting the primordial chaos.

The native "creatures" of Henir are not alive by any standards of mortal beings, do not appear to have any higher intelligence, and look like moving masses of sharp-angles and shapes. They are extremely hostile to anything that isn't under Henir's influence. Though territorial, they also have short attention spans and will allow a would-be victim to escape if it leaves their immediate sight. If Henir's space is the body of Henir, then the natives are like her cells, growing and protecting the body from external threats that try to invade it. If a threat cannot be eliminated, they will assimilate it into their own kind.

While other beings may struggle to navigate Henir's domain, the native entities can move freely within it, as if the entire space was a giant ocean. These entities do not have a name for themselves, but they are usually called by whatever weird shape their main core or body is.

Chaos Circle An abstract geometric Henir life form comprised of several pentagons around a spherical core. Capable of teleportation. Attacks from a long range by casting pentagonal waves of energy that radiate out from the target.
Chaos Square An abstract geometric Henir life form comprised of a circular arrangement of rectangles around a cubical core. Capable of teleportation. Attacks by extending and rotating its body to strike targets at a close range.
Chaos Triangle An abstract geometric centipede-like Henir life form. Attacks by charging towards targets while spinning its body or wrapping itself around them.

Henir mutants are creatures that have become tainted by Henir's influence. Henir mutants vary wildly in appearance, intelligence, and abilities. However, the mutants located within Henir are mostly leviathans: massive whales that have wandered into Henir's space from an open portal in the Demon Realm's ocean. They retain a higher animal intelligence compared to the polygonal entities born directly from Henir, and they will hunt and devour anything that crosses into their territory.

Chaos Leviathan A large whale-like life form which dwells in the realm of Henir. Moves swiftly through the air as if swimming, and can be encountered alone or hunting in large pods. Its cry has a dampening effect that can disrupt mana and block supernatural abilities when heard at a close range. Attacks by biting, swinging or ramming with its body; firing massive beams of energy from its mouth.

Residents

The major NPCs Add, Glave and Helen may be found at this location. There are no unnamed residents because it is literally a primordial void.

Please use the NPC Contact post to request a thread with an available NPC.

Disaster, Henir-Tainted Black Cat
An unusual black cat that can be found roaming Henir's space on occasion. His fur glistens with strange energy and the angular blue markings of Henir, and he seems to be completely unaffected by the oddities of space and gravity here. Sometimes, he will guide lost travellers to rifts out of Henir—or into the darker depths of the void. The tag on his collar reads "Disaster" and has a phone number with a Japanese area code on the back.

If you're friendly to him, he may suddenly appear in your home later and knock objects onto the floor. Capable of teleportation, walking up walls and phasing through solid objects for maximum destruction. Loves belly rubs and chasing things.

STATUS: AVAILABLE
Interactions with Disaster may be handwaved without mod guidance.

Luto, Fired Administrator of Henir's Time and Space
A old man covered in strange, glowing tattoos that rides around Henir's space in a flying chair. He will occasionally cross paths with adventurers and ask if they want a "challenge". Why was he fired? What's his deal? No one seems to know, and those who do won't give an answer.

STATUS: UNAVAILABLE
Luto comes and goes as he pleases. He'll probably turn up... eventually.
